Sakamoto desu ga? follows the life of the handsome Sakamoto. The anime aired last season for a total of twelve episodes. Sakamoto desu ga? was truly an interesting anime to watch, one of my favorites from the spring season. The anime is 100% binge watch worthy. In each episode Sakamoto manages to capture the attention of the viewers, leading to him earning an average score of 7.68 on MAL. Sakamoto is placed under comedy, seinen, and of course the popular school genres.
Sophisticated, suave, sublime; all words which describe the exceedingly handsome and patently perfect Sakamoto. Though it is only his first day in high school, his attractiveness, intelligence, and charm already has the girls swooning and the guys fuming with jealousy. No one seems able to derail him, as all attempts at tripping him up are quickly foiled. His sangfroid is indomitable, his wits peerless. Will any of Sakamoto’s classmates, or even teachers, be able to reach his level of excellence? Probably not, but they just might learn a thing or two trying…
Sakamoto needs no additional introduction, everyone has heard that he is Sakamoto. The handsome Sakamoto is the center of attention in school and constantly is involved with the problems at school. The tasks he has to face shows that he may be unlucky, however, his looks were rather lucky. Whether he is dealing with a pesky bee or fanning out the flames of a fire or even taking on the school thugs, Sakamoto still remains to be handsome and calmly collected. He is not the only captivating character in this anime, a personal favorite of mine is Yuuya Sera, also known as the character wearing the bumblebee underwear who gains weight as each episode goes by. I find it to be quite humorous that the anime features such a character. It is almost like it is a joke among the animators. Each week as a new episode came out, I always found myself checking how much time I had left watching it; I never wanted it to end. The episodes were each original and quite funny. The whole ordeal with Kubota’s mother was hilarious. I definitely recommend this anime to those who have not seen it. The anime is perfect to binge watch or simply watch in your free time. I give Sakamoto a 5 out of 5 stars.
